CROW: Guidelines for taxi ranks and mobility infrastructure

What is CROW?

CROW is the national knowledge and publication platform for infrastructure, public space, traffic and transport in the Netherlands. CROW develops guidelines and publications that municipalities, provinces and contractors use in the construction and design of roads, parking lots and mobility infrastructure.

CROW and taxi stands

The CROW guidelines are indirectly important for taxi drivers, because municipalities use them when designing:

• Taxi stands at stations, airports and shopping centers
• Loading and unloading areas for passenger transport in cities
• Traffic regulations around busy junctions
• Emission zones and environmental zones in inner cities

Mobility vision for the future

CROW also publishes research and visions about the future of mobility, including:

• Electric transport and charging infrastructure
• Shared mobility and Mobility as a Service (MaaS)
