1. Applicability
These Terms of Service apply to all services offered by MatchMyDriver ("we", "us", or "our") through the website matchmydriver.com (hereinafter referred to as the "Service"). By using our Service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
2. Service Description
MatchMyDriver is an online marketplace that connects clients with professional drivers. We function exclusively as a mediation platform and are not responsible for the actual transportation services provided by the drivers.
What is MatchMyDriver?
MatchMyDriver functions as a marketplace where:
- Clients can search for professional drivers for their transportation needs
- Drivers can search for ride assignments and new clients
Important: MatchMyDriver is not a prime contractor and not a party to the agreement between client and driver. We only facilitate the initial contact. All agreements, contracts and transactions are entered into directly between client and driver. MatchMyDriver is not legally responsible for the execution of rides, compliance with agreements, or any damages arising from the cooperation between client and driver.
Our platform offers two ways to connect drivers and clients:
- Direct search function: Clients can find drivers through our directory, filter based on province, experience and specialization, and make direct contact.
- Bidding platform for ride assignments: Clients can post a specific ride and let drivers bid on this assignment. After a certain period, the client receives the best bids and chooses which driver is selected. Additionally, administrators can post fixed price assignments where drivers can show interest instead of bidding.
2.1 Bidding Platform Process
The bidding platform operates according to the following procedure:
For clients posting a ride assignment:
- Client posts a ride assignment with complete details (route, date, time, number of passengers, luggage details, driver preferences)
- The ride assignment becomes visible to registered drivers who can bid
- The bidding period depends on departure time: 1 hour (1-12h until departure), 10 hours (12-24h until departure), 16 hours (24-48h until departure), 38 hours (48-72h until departure), 60 hours (72-120h until departure), or 100 hours (more than 120h until departure). Rides within 1 hour cannot be posted - use the search function.
- For urgent assignments (1-24 hours until departure), the assignment automatically closes after 5 bids or interests
- After this period, the ride assignment is automatically closed and the client receives the top 5 bids via email
- The client selects the desired driver by clicking the "Accept" button in the email
- The chosen driver receives the client's contact details and makes contact within 24 hours
- Ride assignments are automatically deleted after the expiry time (15-168 hours after posting, depending on departure time)
For drivers bidding on ride assignments:
- Registered drivers (with subscription): Can bid directly on ride assignments without administrative approval. Bids are immediately visible in the system.
- Non-registered drivers: Can also bid, but their bids first go to the administrator for approval. Only after approval are these bids included in the top 5 selection.
- All drivers receive a confirmation email once their bid is placed (and if applicable: approved)
- Drivers determine their own price based on the ride details
- Only the top 5 lowest bids are forwarded to the client
- Withdraw bid: Drivers can withdraw their bid via the link in the confirmation email, as long as the ride assignment is still open for bidding. After the bidding period closes, withdrawal is no longer possible.
Fixed price assignments:
In addition to regular bidding assignments, administrators can also post fixed price assignments. These work as follows:
- The rate is determined in advance by the administrator and is non-negotiable
- Drivers can show interest instead of bidding - the amount is already fixed
- Each driver can only show interest once per fixed price assignment
- Once 5 drivers have shown interest, the assignment is automatically closed and the client receives the list of interested drivers via email
- If there are fewer than 5 interested drivers, the assignment closes after the regular bidding period
- The client can view the profiles of interested drivers and makes their own choice by clicking the "Accept" button in the email
- Withdrawing interest is possible via the link in the confirmation email, as long as the assignment is still open
Important: Non-registered drivers who place a bid or show interest in a ride assignment agree to the 20% commission terms (excl. 21% VAT) as described below. Registered drivers (with paid subscription) pay no commission per ride. Posting a ride assignment is free for clients.
Transparency & Equal Opportunities
1. Fair selection process — no algorithm that disadvantages or favors drivers:
Our selection process is fully transparent, objective and fair to all drivers:
- Bidding assignments: The client receives the 5 lowest bids, sorted by price (lowest first). When prices are equal, drivers with a more complete profile are ranked higher.
- Fixed price assignments: The client receives the top 5 interested drivers, sorted by profile quality (most complete profile first).
- No hidden factors: No algorithm is used that can disadvantage or favor drivers. The ranking is determined solely by price and profile completeness — nothing else.
2. Profile quality score — your business card to clients:
Every driver has a profile quality score (0-100%) that is visible to clients. This score is not a rating of your driving skills or professionalism, but a reflection of how completely your profile has been filled in. The purpose of this score is twofold:
- For drivers: The score encourages you to fill in your profile as completely as possible. A more complete profile shows clients that you are serious and professional, which increases your chances of getting assignments.
- For clients: The score provides clients with a transparent indication of which drivers have taken the effort to fill in their profile completely. This helps clients make an informed choice.
The score is automatically calculated based on filling in profile fields such as: profile photo, company details, certifications, vehicle information, insurance, payment options, a personal story and other profile sections. All criteria are directly linked to fields that you can fill in yourself in your profile. The exact point distribution is not publicly disclosed to prevent manipulation. Non-registered drivers have no profile and automatically receive a score of 0%.
Invest in your professionalism: Drivers can actively increase their score by obtaining professional certifications and adding them to their profile. Think of recognized qualifications such as CCV diplomas, security certificates and other industry-related qualifications. The more certifications you obtain, the higher your score — and the more clearly your professionalism is visible to potential clients. This rewards drivers who actively invest in their professional competence and quality.
3. Equal opportunities policy:
Every driver who meets the basic requirements (valid profile, active subscription or approved non-registered bid) has the same chance to be included in the top 5. No drivers are favored or disadvantaged based on previous performance, revenue, relationships with the platform, or other factors beyond price and profile completeness. The platform treats all drivers equally.
4. No sanctions policy:
Not responding to a ride assignment has no influence whatsoever on the driver's future opportunities. There is no "shadow banning", no invisible punishment, and no negative ranking based on activity or inactivity. Drivers are completely free to decide which assignments they want to bid on.
2.2 User Groups
These terms of service apply to two user groups:
- Customers: Individuals or organizations looking for transportation services who use the platform to find and contact drivers.
- Drivers: Professional taxi drivers and other transport professionals who offer their services through our platform and whose profiles are visible to potential customers.
3. Terms of Use
3.1 Conditions for Customers
As a customer using our service to search for drivers, you agree to the following:
- You will only use the contact details of drivers obtained through the platform for discussing and arranging transportation services
- You will not abuse the chat platform or contact form, and will only use them for legitimate requests
- You understand that MatchMyDriver is not responsible for the quality, safety or reliability of services offered by drivers
- You will not provide false or misleading information when contacting drivers
3.2 Conditions for Drivers
As a driver with a profile on our platform, you agree to the following:
- You declare that all information in your profile (including certifications, qualifications, experience and vehicle data) is truthful, accurate and current
- You agree that your profile data is publicly visible on the platform to potential customers
- You understand that certain personal data can be hidden via privacy settings, but that professional information always remains visible
- You are responsible for updating your profile information when it changes
- You possess all necessary permits, licenses and insurance to offer transportation services
- You understand that MatchMyDriver maintains statistics, including: number of times shown in search results, profile views, contact requests, number of bids placed on ride assignments, and number of accepted bids
- You understand that all your statistics and related data are completely and permanently deleted when your profile is removed by an administrator (for example, upon cancellation, abuse, or other reasons)
- You grant MatchMyDriver the right to use your profile data (including name, profile photo, company name, location, specializations and other professional information) for promotional purposes, including but not limited to: social media posts, advertisements, newsletters and other marketing communications
- You understand that this promotional use is always intended to positively highlight both MatchMyDriver and your services as a driver, and that your profile will never be used or presented in a negative manner
3.2.1 Driver Registration Requirements
To ensure the quality of our platform, we have the following requirements for drivers who wish to register:
Legal Requirements:
- Valid Dutch or European driver's license (minimum category B)
- Professional liability insurance for passenger transport
- Chamber of Commerce registration as self-employed
- Certificate of Good Conduct if required for your specialization
Professional Requirements:
- Reliable and well-maintained vehicle
- Minimum 2 years driving experience (recommended)
- Professional work attitude and communication skills
- Proficiency in Dutch and/or English
3.3 Registration and Account
For administrators managing profiles, it may be necessary to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information, including your password, and for all activities that occur under your account.
3.4 Information Accuracy
You declare that all information you provide to us during registration or at any other time is accurate, complete and current. You are responsible for updating this information to ensure it remains current.
3.5 Prohibited Activities
When using our Service, you agree not to:
- Use the Service for illegal purposes or in violation of these Terms of Service
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Disrupt or interfere with the operation of the Service
- Collect data from the Service without our prior consent
- Distribute harmful code or malware through our Service
- Collect contact details of drivers for mass approaches or other commercial purposes outside the intended transportation services
- Provide false reviews or feedback about drivers or their services
3.6 Driver Profile Visibility
For drivers, the following conditions apply regarding profile and visibility:
MatchMyDriver offers one transparent Premium subscription for registered drivers:
- Premium (€25/year excl. 21% VAT): Publicly visible profile with professional information, contact via platform, 0% commission on ride assignments, and the ability to add a link to your own website to your profile.
The Premium subscription offers:
- Publicly visible profile with professional information (experience, certifications, vehicle details)
- Contact option for customers via platform (contact form and WhatsApp chat)
- Direct access to bidding platform without administrative approval
- 0% commission on accepted ride assignments
Additional terms:
- MatchMyDriver reserves the right to make changes to subscription options with an announcement of at least 30 days for existing profiles.
- For users (customers), using the website and searching for drivers is completely free.
- Free registration period: Until June 1, 2026, drivers can register for free and use all Premium features.
3.7 Pricing Model and No Commission Guarantee
Our Promise
MatchMyDriver operates on a fixed-fee model based on an annual subscription. MatchMyDriver charges no commission or success fee on rides arranged through the platform for registered drivers. Your work, your full earnings.
The pricing model for registered drivers is as follows:
- One-time annual contribution: €25 per year (excl. 21% VAT)
- No commission per ride: 0% on all rides arranged through MatchMyDriver
- No success fee: No additional costs for accepted bids or assignments
- No hidden costs: The subscription amount is the only expense
This model ensures that drivers retain their full earnings for the work they deliver. We believe intermediaries have no right to a portion of your income.
Posting Your Own Ride Assignments
Registered drivers may post ride assignments from their own client base or network on MatchMyDriver, for example when they cannot complete a ride themselves. MatchMyDriver cannot require that no commission be charged to the driver who completes the ride.
However, given the philosophy and way of working of MatchMyDriver, we ask drivers to embrace our promise and not charge any commission to the driver who receives the ride. Together we build a fair market.
3.8 Amendment Clause for Pricing Structure
The following conditions apply to changes in the pricing structure:
- Written announcement: Any change to the pricing structure (subscription price, any new costs or rates) will be announced in writing via email to the driver's email address on file.
- Right to terminate: Drivers may terminate their subscription at any time, for any reason. If a driver disagrees with announced changes, the subscription can be terminated free of charge.
- No retroactive effect: Changes to the pricing structure never apply retroactively. Already paid subscription periods are honored under the original terms.
- Active confirmation: For significant price increases (more than 25% compared to the current rate), explicit consent from the driver is required upon subscription renewal.
Important: The above guarantees apply in addition to our promise that registered drivers never pay commission on rides. This fundamental value is not up for discussion and will never change.
3.9 Commission Terms for Non-Registered Drivers
For non-registered drivers who accept ride assignments through the bidding platform, the following commission terms apply:
- Non-registered drivers owe a 20% commission (excl. 21% VAT) to MatchMyDriver on the accepted bid amount
- This commission is owed when a bid is accepted by a client and the ride is successfully completed
Exceptions - No commission owed:
The 20% commission (excl. 21% VAT) is not owed in the following cases (provided written proof can be presented):
- Client cancellation - The client cancels the ride on time
- Client NoShow - The client does not show up at the agreed time and location
- Force majeure - The ride cannot be completed due to force majeure (e.g., extreme weather conditions, vehicle technical problems, driver illness)
Burden of proof:
The driver must be able to provide written confirmation in case of cancellation, NoShow or force majeure. This can be in the form of email, SMS or documented phone confirmation from the client. Without proof, the driver still owes 20% commission (excl. 21% VAT).
Important:
- These commission rules apply only to ride assignments accepted through the bidding platform.
- When drivers and clients contact each other directly via the search filter and negotiate their own rates and terms, no commissions apply. The driver is then solely responsible for their own agreements.
- Note: MatchMyDriver exclusively facilitates the initial contact between drivers and clients. All transactions (payments, execution of rides) always take place between the driver and client themselves, regardless of whether contact was established via the bidding platform or via the search filter.
3.10 Moderation and Removal of Driver Profiles
MatchMyDriver reserves the right to, at its own discretion and without prior notice, temporarily or permanently remove driver profiles or block access to them in the following cases:
- Repeated or serious complaints from customers about the driver or their service provision
- Abuse of the platform, including unwanted behavior towards customers
- Providing false, misleading or fraudulent information in the driver profile
- Violation of these Terms of Service or applicable legislation
- Expiration or revocation of necessary permits, licenses or insurance
- Insufficient quality of service that may damage the platform's reputation
- Behavior considered offensive, threatening, inappropriate or harmful
- Prolonged inactivity or failure to respond to contact requests without valid reason
MatchMyDriver also reserves the right to retain driver data for administrative and security purposes, even after removal of a profile.
4. Duration and Termination of Agreement
4.1 Agreement Effective Date
The agreement between the driver and MatchMyDriver becomes effective at the moment the driver submits the registration form. By submitting the form, the driver declares to agree to these Terms of Service and any subsequent amendments thereto.
4.2 Termination
The agreement may be terminated by the driver at any time, including after amendment of the Terms of Service. Termination can be done by:
- Sending an email to admin@matchmydriver.com requesting termination
- Contacting us through the contact form on the website
Upon receipt of the termination request, the driver profile will be deactivated and removed from search results within 7 business days.
4.3 No Refunds
Upon termination of the agreement, no refund of the paid subscription fees (contribution) will be provided. This also applies to:
- The remaining months of the current subscription year before the next renewal date
- Termination after amendment of the Terms of Service
- Termination for any reason whatsoever
The subscription remains active until the end of the paid period, unless the driver requests immediate removal of the profile.
4.4 Automatic Renewal
The Premium subscription is not automatically renewed. Before the subscription expires, the driver will receive a reminder via email. If no renewal takes place, the profile will be deactivated and removed from search results. The driver can renew the subscription at any time to reactivate the profile.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service and all materials thereon, including, but not limited to, software, images, text, graphic designs, logos, data, and so forth, are the property of MatchMyDriver or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.
6. Liability
6.1 Limitation of Liability
In no event shall MatchMyDriver be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential damages or compensation, including but not limited to, loss of profit, data loss or substitute services arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
6.2 Role as Mediation Platform
MatchMyDriver functions exclusively as a mediation platform between customers and drivers and is not responsible for:
- The quality, safety, reliability or suitability of transportation services offered by drivers
- The accuracy of information provided by drivers in their profiles
- Disputes between customers and drivers regarding transportation services
- Any damage, loss or injury arising during transportation services booked through the platform
- The availability or reliability of drivers
6.3 Responsibility After Making Contact
MatchMyDriver exclusively facilitates the initial contact between customers and drivers. After contact has been made between both parties, MatchMyDriver is no longer responsible for:
- All further communication between customer and driver
- Compliance with agreements, rates and terms between both parties
- The execution of the ride assignment or transportation service
- Any cancellations, NoShows or other issues during or after contact
- Payments that are handled directly between customer and driver
Applicable terms: After the initial contact, the driver's own general terms and conditions apply to all further aspects of the transportation service. For professional drivers, reference is made to the General Transportation Conditions of the Royal Dutch Transport (KNV) for Healthcare Transport and Taxi, available at: KNV General Transportation Conditions.
Important: Customers and drivers are themselves responsible for making clear agreements about rates, conditions, cancellation policy and other aspects of the transportation service. MatchMyDriver advises both parties to request and retain written confirmations of all agreements made.
6.4 Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
7. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless MatchMyDriver and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, employees, agents and partners from and against all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debts, and expenses arising from: (i) your use of and access to the Service; (ii) your violation of any provision of these Terms of Service; or (iii) your violation of third party rights.
8. Service and Terms Changes
MatchMyDriver reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Service at any time and without prior notice. We may also update these Terms of Service from time to time. Your continued use of the Service after such changes means you agree to the updated terms.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and interpreted in accordance with Dutch law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
